To shorten a URL, you can use the bit.ly custom search where you simply pop up Alfred and type “bitly” followed by your URL to pop up the Bitly page. Alternatively, you could try one of the user-created extensions for URL shortening, such as this one:

What I’m trying to do is reduce the keystrokes to obtain a URL (command L in safari) and then copy and shorten and send to clipboard ready to paste. Right now…its several more steps. Can Alfred do that? Also…Create new task to “Things” would be great also. Im pretty sure Alfred can help with this…however I do not know how to do it. Any tips would be appreciated. Keep up the great work!
