As for OmniFocus or any app, there are two ways you could deal with this: You can experiment with the Partial Matching feature (under Features > Applications) or you can use Spotlight Comments to set your own shortcuts for any app. The latter would also allow you to set a keyword to pop up all your browsers by typing “browser”, for example.

In fact just tell me it’s definitely coming in a release soon and the money’s yours now!

Oh, and it would be nice to type ‘OMF’ and have OmniFocus come up top, and type ‘OMG’ and have OmniGraffle come up top, iyswim. Of course I could just type ‘OM’ and learn the shortcut number…
